Woodbury Family Christmas Countdown Days 1 - 5

For my birthday this past year, my friend Tami sent me a wonderful, hand-made gift. It was a Christmas advent calendar with a little tin for each day, all magnetic, perfect for the fridge. Inside each tin is a piece of paper with an activity on it to do with the family. It is to help us get in the Christmas spirit. It is really fun and I can tell she worked hard on it. (Thanks again Tami!) Since we are just getting out our Christmas decorations today, we are little behind in our countdown. So, today we are doing five days worth of activities! Countdown with us!

Day 1 - Write letters to Santa

Day 2 - Build gingerbread houses
We made a fantastic gingerbread house last weekend. If you haven't seen it yet, click here.

Day 3 - Read a Christmas story together
We read "The Polar Express."

Day 4 - Call up Grandma and sing a Christmas carol
We sang "Rudoloph the Red-nosed Reindeer" and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." I know the second isn't a Christmas carol, but Spencer insisted.

Day 5 - Go make a snowman
Sorry! No snow in Virginia yet! If we get snow this year, (please cross your fingers for us), we will definitely build a snowman and post pictures!

I am going to find tins and make this!!! I LOVE IT! What a wonderful idea and gift!!! Love your tree and all the decorations! We have a white house ornament for each year we have lived here. I love it! We are up to number 4! :) We will have at least 7 more to add when our time here is up! Crazy! Such a fun way to remember the things that each year brings!

One more thing, I totally remember that nativity and that fat santa from Edwards. Oh, and will you please ask Tami where she got those tins? Thanks dear!
