Day 12 - Drive around and see the lights
Christmas lights are always so pretty. In Virginia, we have noticed that many homes have a candle placed in each window, along with a wreath hanging from a red ribbon. It is very pretty. Tonight, as we paused to look at a house, Spencer said very dreamily, and so seriously, "It's beautiful." The way he said it, sounding like such a little adult, made me and Mark crack up. He is too funny.

We went the other nights to see the lights in nearby Albany. It's one of the older towns in the West, so we drove through a couple of its four historic districts, where all the old houses decorate only in white Christmas lights. It was gorgeous.
Of course, neither of our (talking) kids had anything to say in quite so dreamy a manner as Spencer. We heard much more "Lights! Lights out Jacob's window! Lights out Emma's window!" over and over.
C'est la vie!
Wow, sounds like it's really pretty around there. I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing everyone's Christmas lights through March in these here parts of South Provo. :P I love your silly family picture too! I think Mark wins on the face though, man, what a good face!
