After lunch, we went to the State House, or capitol building, of South Carolina. It was beautiful and we learned a lot of fun history by walking it's grounds. After our little tour of the State House, we went back to the hotel for a nap, before getting ready for Danna's wedding reception. (She was married in August and had a reception in Washington state at that time. Now it was South Carolina's turn for a reception. BTW - Josh is from South Carolina!) The reception was held at Josh's parents' home and it was really nice. There aren't any pictures from the reception. We took so many at the wedding in August, we thought we could skip the pictures this time around. We did, however, take a few fun pictures at the State House!
First, a little history, then a little funny. When Sherman's army occupied Columbia, SC, during the Civil War, soldiers broke the bottom off of George Washington's walking stick. As you can see in the picture below, it is still missing. Now, for the funny. Taylor has recently announced that she wants to be a "poser" when she grows up. What she actually wants to be is a model. She is really into posing for pictures lately. It is too cute. We still laugh everytime we hear her announce to someone new that she wants to be a "poser." In the picture below she is giving a good example of her skills as a future "poser."
Me and my cuties on the steps of the State House!
In the picture below, take notice of the star on the wall of the State House. There were quite a few stars scattered about on the walls of the capitol. Everywhere a star was placed meant a canon ball had hit and damaged the wall there during the Civil War. History really came alive during our visit that day. I loved it!
I couldn't resist posting this picture of Spencer. I thought it was too funny! Plus, we get another great pose from Taylor!

A wonderful trip I'm going to start reading "gone with the wind" now.
She is quite the poser, isn't she. I still can't get over how grown up she looks. I learn so much from your trips. I love hearing about them :)
It sounds like you guys had a great trip. I even got to learn a little history. Thanks.
