The morning before we headed home, Josh took us to see a few pre-Civil War homes. They were beautiful and each had an amazing history. One home had been owned by a former slave, who had bought herself out of slavery and purchased the home, all long before the Civil War. We also visited the campus of the University of South Carolina. Below are a few pictures from our last morning in South Carolina.

Me and Mark standing in front of former president Woodrow Wilson's boyhood home.

I love the trees in the South. They grow in every direction, and no-one trims them. The tress just grow where they want to. I think they would be so much fun to climb.

Thanks again Josh and Danna. We had a wonderful time and have further fallen in love with the South.

I can just imaging climbing those trees. We're lucky if we ever get a tree trunk more than six inches thick in our yard!
Hi Jamie! I read all your posts, but usually forget to comment.
The buildings look so cool. I'm trying to study American architecture right now. And you're right, the trees are cool!!!
Joe would still like to work at Southern Virginia University someday, if a library position opens up, so I like to look at your pictures to see what Virginia looks like. :)
The trees are nothing to the houses! Absolutely gorgeous!
That was a great trip I'm looking forward to my next adventure
