I think one of the hardest things to do during the long winter season, is keep my kids entertained, especially when we can't go outside. This morning we awoke to gray skies and sleet, and so I knew we would be in the house the entire day, and that I needed to find some fun things for Spencer and me to do. After getting ready for the day, we decided to pull out the paints. It turned out to be a great thing to do. Spencer had a lot of fun painting, and as a proud mommy, I had fun watching my little budding artist.

Later in the day, after lunch, we made banana bread. Spencer loves being in the kitchen with me, so baking is always fun, and the result today was really yummy. Maybe instead of an artist he will be a chef.

Jamie, I have enjoyed reading your last few posts. Glad to know that we can still be in touch, even if it's through blogs. You are such a good mom with an adorable family. I feel horrible that I wasn't there for you more during 2008. I hope 2009 brings much joy! I am sure it will!
