Monticello

The Tuesday following Christmas, we took my mom to Monticello. Monticello is the former home of Thomas Jefferson. It is beautiful and the tour was very informative. I learned so much about Jefferson. His home is about an hour and a half from our home, nestled in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. The sights were beautiful, despite it being the dead of winter. Mark and I decided we have to go back in the spring and fall, so we can see it in full bloom. I love history and am so grateful to live in Virginia.

I obviously did not take this picture, but I wanted to show what Monticello looks like in the early spring. Isn't it beautiful?! I can't wait to visit again.

Wow, you guys got to see lots of really neat stuff! Burke's sister Chanelle and her husband are in VA for about 5 months for his FBI training. They are in Spotsilvania (something like that). They're really enjoying it there also.

Virginia does look beautiful. I started reading The Wednesday Letters that takes place at a B&B nestled in those same Blue Ridge Mountains. Anyways, it looks like you had fun, and learned a lot.
