The Funny Things That Come Out of My Kids Mouths

Sometimes I wish I could carry a tape recorder around to capture all of the funny things that come out of my kids' mouths. Below are a few funny things from this week . . .

While Mark was at the church building one evening, I bathed the kids early, and then we all snuggled up on the couch, under a blanket, and watched an old Ginger Rogers movie. As Spencer was tucked up under my chin, he turned around and gave me a big hug, saying, "Mommy. You're my sweetie. You're not Daddy's sweetie. You're MY sweetie. You tell him that when he gets home." Too funny.

On Thursday, Mark and I were telling Taylor how proud of her we were that she was awarded Student of the Year. (The official announcement had been made that morning.) She told us, very confidently, "The kids in my class just don't understand. You just have to be good. When you are good, you get good stuff. That's my little secret. I'm good." There is a little more to it than that but, yes! Being good is great!

This morning, Spencer handed me an envelope and asked me to write "Gene Kelly" on it. I did so, and then he filled it with something, (I am not sure what), sealed it and asked me to put a stamp on it. I asked if he could pretend to mail it, because I didn't want to use a stamp on a pretend letter. Well, this made him very upset. Taylor, sweet girl that she is, gave Spencer this condolence, saying, "Spencer. It's okay. We don't have the address for Heaven anyway." (Too cute.) Spencer replied, very mad by this point, "Taylor. He's not in heaven. HE IS DEAD!" Oh my goodness. This kid! Not only do I wish I could have tape recorded all of this, but I wish I could look inside both their little brains and see their thought processes.

I love the things kids say too. :)
Btw, when Spencer wants a stamp, try a sticker, a square one if you need too :) I got that idea about a month ago!
