Where did I come from?

I think my mom seriously wonders this about me sometimes. Why? Because I absolutely love to be in my kitchen. My mom, not so much. I definitely did not get my love of the kitchen. I seriously love cooking and baking. I love chopping and slicing. I love the sound of onions as they saute with olive oil and garlic. I just love being in my kitchen. Being in there brings me a lot of joy. Especially when my kids are in there with me. I love having them pull chairs up to the counter, so they can watch as my mixer mixes away. I love having them beg to be the one to add the next ingredient. I love their happy little faces when I make something they love. It all makes me happy, happy. Today we made cinnamon rolls from scratch. (Actually, this was our second batch this week! Shh. Don't tell anyone.) They were ooey and gooey and so yummy. Everyone loved them and everyone had fun making them. Seriously, anything that involves a rolling pin is fun in my kids' eyes.

Holy yummy rolls Batman! Seriously though, they look really good. And there are no rules that you can't have them twice in one week :)

Those look really good. Funny story - I usually make the cinnamon rolls in our house, but on Sunday Burke decided to make some and he is actually a great cook, but he forgot the yeast. So he added it when he realized an hour after it had been rising. It didn't work so well. They were some sad little cinnamon rolls. I better make some more soon also. YUM!

Mark's cinnamon rolls were one of the many selling points in reasons to date this guy. Without the restaurant, he hasn't made them. Yours look like I want to jump in and try one. No fair being so far away. Ok, maybe I'll break down and learn how to too.
