Dinosaurs Love Cartoons

We have not had cable television for almost two years. We rely completely on a pair of old rabbit ears to bring us our news. In Northern Virginia, that is all our rabbit ears would bring us - the news on two fuzzy broadcast channels. Well, we have moved to Southern Virginia, and our rabbit ears now pick up a nice clear signal and so many more channels, including PBS, and my kids eyes have been opened to the world of cartoons on television, and I must add that Spencer has fallen in love. After Spencer has watched his one hour of cartoons for the day, (the kids are limited to one hour a day), he continues to beg to watch more cartoons and I repeatedly tell him no. So, this morning, while I was huffing and puffing away on my elliptical machine, Spencer asked for the millionth time if he could watch more cartoons. I patiently told him no. He thought about this for a moment and then went to his bedroom. He came back with his two favorite dinosaurs and said, "Mommy. My dinosaurs want to watch cartoons. Can they watch cartoons?" I smiled and said, "Sweetheart. Dinosaurs like to play. They do not like to watch cartoons." Spencer whole heartily and sincerely replied, "No Mommy. Dinosaurs love cartoons!" I smiled and said, "Sorry kid. No cartoons." He is getting too smart and is just too darn cute.
