Whirlwind of a Weekend with the Merrells
It has truly been a whirlwind of weekend, but so very worth it. The Merrells got into town Friday evening, ready to spend the weekend with us. We spent that night simply catching up. On Saturday we had hoped to spend the day at the beach, but we were completely rained out, so we instead spent the day at the farmer's market, eating donuts and browsing the local vendors. Later that day, we decided to drive out to The Virginia Diner for dinner. By the time we finished our meal, the rain had mainly cleared up, so we decided at the very last minute to drive to the beach. We got there right after the sun had set, so we didn't get to stay long, but I think we definitely stayed long enough for everyone to have a memorable time playing in the waves. Our last minute decision made for a very late night that night, but, again, so worth it. On Sunday, we rested and attended church, saying our goodbyes after Sacrament meeting until the next weekend visit. We are so grateful to have our family living on the East Coast. I don't have any pictures of our weekend, but we definitely all have lots of good memories.
