Halloween Cookies and More

I feel so blessed to be a stay-at-home mom. Our family makes many sacrifices for me to stay home, but the reward is great and makes the sacrifices seem small. Today was one of those days where I could not feel anything but gratitude for being able to stay at home and nurture these beautiful chilren my Heavenly Father has blessed me with.

This morning began with Spencer climbing onto my lap and saying, "I love you mom. I want to marry you." I asked, "Why do you want to marry mommy?" He answered, "You're so cute mommy!" I just hugged him tight and enjoyed the moment. He is growing up so fast, and sometimes I wish he would stay little forever.

Later in the day, we made our traditional Halloween cookies. Spencer and I made the sugar cookie dough while Taylor was at school. When Taylor came home, we made our favorite cream chesse frosting and then rolled out the cookie dough and cut fun Halloween shapes using cookie cutters. We then baked the cookies and finally decorated them. Every year we make these same cookies. It is a simple, but fun family tradition. I love being in the kitchen, baking with my children. They are so sweet, and looking at these fun pictures, I feel especially blessed today.

You really are so lucky to be a stay at home mom. Your children looked like they were pros trying to decorate the cookies. Way cute!
