New Experiences and Scary Tomatoes

So, Mark and I grew up in the West. We are used to relatively mild weather. In the summer we are prepared for long, hot days. What we are not used to, or prepared for, are "Severe Weather Warnings" on the television and radio almost every single day. This has been our week this past week. Every single day there has been a warning. Last night was the most eventful warning. We were under our millionth - okay, a little exaggeration - "Severe Thunderstorm Warning" when the weather man broke the news of a "Tornado Warning". What?! Tornado! What the heck do I do during a tornado? Then the weather man announced that the warning was only for Dinwiddie County, about 20 miles south of us - thank goodness we didn't buy that house in Dinwiddie. So, not exactly in Chester, but still very scary. Mark and I have decided we need to get a little more prepared for the weather we are experiencing here in the South. Out of all the craziness last night, a cute moment did occur. While watching the warnings on T.V., Spencer pointed to the circular graphics on the screen and said, "Mommy, look scary tomatoes." I said, "Yes, honey, scary tornadoes." Spencer agreed, "scary tomatoes." It was very sweet.

After a windy day in the west, with blowing dust, I had to laugh at Spencer's cute words. I have some scary tomatoes, too, but just because I'm not very good at growing them! Love you all! Grandpa Spencer
