Spencer's Primary Program Solo
Our Primary Program was today. Spencer had a small solo in it, along with a speaking part. He did great on both, but I was especially proud of his solo. A couple months ago, our Primary chorister asked boys who wanted to sing solos in the Primary Program to raise their hands. No hands raised, so Spencer raised his hand and volunteered. He really didn't want to, but he felt he should be an example and do so. He ended up being the only boy who volunteered. I was really proud of him in this moment. He's going to have many more opportunities like this one, opportunities where volunteers are needed, but none will volunteer. I am grateful he was willing at such a young age to be that volunteer. Well, today finally came and he was so nervous before the program. Truthfully, we were all a little nervous. There was no reason to be nervous though. When his solo came, he confidently stepped up to the pulpit and sang his part beautifully. He was wonderful. In just three short weeks, he will turn twelve and leave Primary. I am not quite ready for him to do so, but I know he will be just as amazing in Priesthood. I am just so proud of him.
