A Week with my Mom (and Sister)

I was so lucky to have my mom visit for an entire week. We had a great time together, and, as an added bonus, my sister and brother-in-law were able to visit for a few days as well.

My mom and I spent our first day together simply relaxing and doing a little shopping. Perfect! The following day, we headed to Raleigh, NC to see my sister's apartment and to take the kids swimming. (Danna and Josh were working in NC at the time.)






We spent an entire two hours at the pool and the kids would have stayed longer if we would have let them. They had a lot of fun. After our quick little visit, we drove back to Virginia, bringing Danna back with us. (Her husband, Josh, had to work, but would join us later in the week.) On the drive home, Danna and the kids took 33 pictures of themselves sitting in the back seat. They took some very crazy pictures. This one was a cute one.

The following day, my mom, my sister, the kids and I went to Henricus. Henricus is the home of America's second settlement, Jamestown being its first, and it is only a few miles from our home. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot.






After we got home, we had a little down-time, and then, once Mark came home from work, the girls and I headed out for a little "girl" time. We got pedicures, had dinner and did a little shopping. Taylor soaked up every minute of it, loving it all.

The next day, after Spencer's t-ball game . . .

We headed, (still minus Josh, but plus Mark,) to Williamsburg. It was GREAT! We loved it. After a little shopping through cute little shops, and a stop for yummy treats, we met up with some Red Coats and saw some re-inactments. It was so much fun!









Josh arrived later that night, and we spent that night and the following day relaxing and simply enjoying being together. I snapped this picture right before Danna and Josh left Sunday night. Very cute! Taylor and Spencer love their aunt and uncle very much.

After Danna and Josh left, we did a whole lot of relaxing. Not really by choice. Spencer woke up really sick on Monday morning, so we couldn't do much. But, it was nice just to have my mom here, whether we were doing anything or not. Thanks for coming Mom! We love you!
