Guest Bathroom Update

I really should have taken more "before" pictures. The single picture I took (obviously) doesn't show the amount of work needed in our guest bathroom. (Just picture dingy walls, dirty baseboards, staples in the wall (I'm still not sure why those were there) and stenciled gold leaves. Quite the picture, huh?!) To begin our re-do, we gave everything (ceiling, walls, baseboards, mouldings and door) a fresh coat of paint. (Cream and white.) We then replaced the old brown heating vent with a clean white vent and the almond-colored wall plugs and light switches with white ones. Then Mark installed a new faucet, mirror and light fixture. (No more "construction-grade"! No more brass! Yay!) To finish the room, I bought a soap dispenser, towels, a basket (for toilet paper) and framed art. It's simple and clean, and we love it.

My one "before" picture . . .

All new . . .

(A little glimpse into my "OCD" head . . . I specifically bought clear hand soap to go in our new dispenser. I had immediately fell in love with this dispenser when I saw it at Target, and had hoped clear soap would help in keeping the dispenser's "milk-glass" look. I was totally bummed that the soap looks purple! I am half tempted to empty it and try something else, (maybe white soap?,) but I tell myself that that would be so impractical and a waste of money. Yet, I look at the picture above and again am bummed that the soap looks purple. Ugh. Sometimes I hate my "OCD" brain.)

when I would get the same way about the small stuff, you know soap details....my dad would say to me, "you know a blind man would love to see it." Couldn't help but think-maybe tell everyone to really wash their hands good and use lots of soap, so it will be gone soon!

It looks great! Question...is the mirror now painted brown? It's white in one picture, but the pic with the lights makes it look brown....and to fix your soap problem, I'll just bring Adam to come visit. He can go through that soap dispenser in no time at all! Then you can refill with a white soap. The white soap next time should work. Great job!

It looks amazing, I remember what it looked like before, you both did a great job. I do feel like I painted right along with you because I was on the phone with you for most of the trim painting. great job

Oh, SO nice! I love the basket with TP in it. I may have to do that. My kids are always yelling for more - that would solve that problem. It looks so great - good work you guys. :)
