A Day at the Beach

We have lived in Virginia for almost two years now, and have never been to the beach. Crazy, huh? So, we thought we better go and see what Virginia beaches are like. That is exactly what we did today, and we had so much fun. The weather was overcast and 70 degrees. Perfect! Okay - I know most other people might not find that perfect, but I grew up in Washington State, and that is how I like my coast. The entire time we lived in California, I never got used to their sunny, crowded beaches.

We began our day in Norfolk, VA, about an hour and a half from our home. There we toured the USS Wisconsin, a Navy battleship, and the Naval Museum. It was very interesting, we learned a lot and we loved walking around the battleship. After touring for a couple hours, we had a quick lunch, pb sandwhiches and bananas in the car, and then headed to Virginia Beach, another 20 minutes away. The beach was very pretty, and very windy, as you can tell by the pictures. We walked the beach for a little while, found a few seashells and then browsed the local shops. The whole day was great. It was a much needed break from LIFE.
